Doctor and co-founder of the World Health Organization in 1962 in conjunction with The Medicina Alternativa International organization. Until 2005 Professor Dr. Sir Anton Jayasuriya was President of the Medicina Alternativa International organization, Dean of the Open International University for Complementary Medicine in Colombo on Sri Lanka, and laureate of the United Nations for Humanity in Medicine (1982). Professor Dr. Sir Anton Jayasuriya is the author many books specializing in the healing process.

In 2007 Professor Anton Jayasuriya was posthumously awarded the United Nations Millennium Award by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan for his contribution to humanity throughout his life (www.medicina-alternativa.org).
